Backgound of keynote speakers
Pedro de Bruyckere (PhD, 1974) is an educational scientist at Arteveldehogeschool, Ghent since 2001 and since 2018 postdoctoral researcher at Leiden University, The Netherlands. He co-wrote several books in Dutch in which he debunks popular myths on GenY and GenZ, education and pop culture. Pedro is an often asked public speaker, one of his strongest points is that he is funny in explaining serious stuff." In 2015 the book 'Urban Myths about Learning and Education" was published worldwide by Academic Press, a book that was listed in The Guardian as one of the 10 books every educator should read. This book was translated also in Swedish and Chinese. This book was followed in 2018 by his second international published book: The Ingredients for Great Teaching. Pedro has given talks around the world (NY, Washington DC, London, Barcelona, Berlin, Florence, Pretoria,…). In his blog Pedro de Bruyckere often posts his latest views on education.

Backgound issues for the conferenceIn many countries the labour market shows an increasing demand for people. How do schools and training organisations react to those developments. How are people trained for the 'new trends on the labour market?'; how do we develop sustainable training patways for people entering the labour market and for those who are already working.

We will try to identify trends in the different countries. How can we learn from each other, how can we share knowledge, ideas and activities in these fields?

Important issue is also what we, within the EGIN network can do to help, support each other and possibly to develop projects, materials in a systems of co-creation.
How can the EGIN platform support and facilitate actions and activities that are needed to make vocational education face the future?

There will be plenty of time to present project from your own country, your organisation or even your ideas. Just send an email to the EGIN office, infor@egin.nl to let us know you would like to get some space during the conference.
